February 25, 2008, 8:12 pmShowtime this weekend at CollectormaniaMidlands. I have collected the Ash painting from storage and amazingly enough Bruce Campbell still hasn't pulled out of the show yet. We will be displaying all the usual stuff, paintings and prints etc. Remember if you are after a specific print let us know in advance as we are only able to bring a limited amount of stock. Jason is going to bring his Top Gun illustration to put on display and we will have the snowspeeder illustration and hopefully the first print off it there as well (if you want to see them just ask). As promised I have completed a new piece just in time for the show..... it's the march hare, well it is nearly March and only a few days before my birthday (hint hint I hope the venue is licensed). We are aiming to have prints available at the show and will try and get them online at the weekend. I am now flat out on the commission piece I revealed last week and am trying to complete some longstanding pieces in time for Memorabilia as well as a couple more super large illustrations. Anyway I'd better get back to show preparations and counting down the days to my birthday (hint hint). posted by alan 0 comments --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- February 11, 2008, 9:48 pmAs promised, here is the preliminary sketch of the commission piece I am currently working on. I am aiming to get this completed for Memorabilia. So why couldn't I show it until now. Well it's because it's a surprise present for someones birthday........ so without further delay........HAPPY BIRTHDAY CIARAN..... I am sure you will be looking forward to collecting the completed painting at the end of March. I will, of course, be doing a limited print run of the finished painting as well. posted by alan 1 comments --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- February 07, 2008, 12:48 pmI know posts seem to be few and far between but I will try improve my posting rate over the next couple of months.Obvious News Jason has changed the side menu and is still working on some of the page links. He hopes to get this completed soon. The competion entries have been chosen and voting has started. Voting will continue until the end of the month. I will then start working on the winning painting. Exhibition News Well we are doing two shows in March. The first will be Collectormania Midlands. It appears that Mr. Bruce Campbell is going to be there. I have collected the Ash painting from storage and will display it there. This of course means that he will pull out in the next couple of days. I am still trying to get a full size giclee sorted of the giant snowspeeder illustration (so far the tests haven't captured the depth of colour in the illustration). If it works then I might be able to do a short run of this.... I will be bringing either the snowspeeder or Jasons framed Top Gun illustration to the shows (or maybe both). What I am Painting Now News I am working on a couple of new pieces for release in March (hopefully). I will be able to show you some images over the next couple of weeks. To give you a clue one of the pieces has the month in it's title!! I am also working on a commission piece. I will be able to show the preliminary sketch next week (there is a reason why I can't show it yet that will become clear then).
